RING OF HONOR Tape Library Up For Sale After The Company Was Forced To Release Talent And Go On Hiatus

Following the news that Ring of Honor is on the verge of going bust, it's now been reported that the company's tape library is up for sale. However, it won't include the iconic pro wrestler you see above!

Earlier this week, it was reported that Ring of Honor is on the ropes. With declining ratings and ticket sales, the company is set to go on hiatus until WrestleMania week in April. Their final show will be the Final Battle PPV in December, but in the meantime, all of their wrestlers have been released from their contracts (meaning WWE and AEW could start signing them starting now)

The pandemic really hurt Ring of Honor, and the decision to not hold shows for 18 months - not to mention the rise of AEW - has killed any buzz they once had.

Now, Sports Illustrated is reporting that the entire Ring of Honor tape library is up for sale and available to the highest bidder. The company has been trying to sell that for a year, so why hasn't it been snapped up yet? Well, this archive only stretches back to 2012, and while there are plenty of massive matches and personalities, much of what fans consider "classic" ROH wouldn't be there.

That includes matches with the likes of CM Punk and Bryan Danielson; however, it would include the All In show that's considered the launching platform for All Elite Wrestling. It sounds like Ring of Honor wants too much money, so we're not banking on a sale now unless they've reduced the price.

We certainly hope there's a future for the promotion, but we'll see what happens between now and April. As always, keep checking back here for updates as we have them!
