There are a number of UFC super fights which never became a reality with one of the biggest being Ronda Rousey vs. Cris Cyborg. She's established herself as the top name in women's MMA recently and while she is a wrestling fan, it doesn't appear as if the same can be said about Rousey.
The two of them never clashed in UFC because of a weight difference but Cyborg believes there's more to it than that. During a recent interview, she was asked if she believes Rousey was afraid of her and replied with a very definitive, "Yes." Rousey refused on numerous occasions to fight Cyborg because of the ten-pound weight difference between them but Cyborg made it clear she doesn't buy it.
"She didn’t do the fight that a lot of fans would have liked to watch, it’s like two million pay-per-views, for sure the people are going to make this fight. And a lot of fans would like to see this, but I think she just used my name to grow her name. Before she was the UFC champion, I was already champion and I think she just used this. And when you see her fight Holly [Holm] and Amanda [Nunes], you see why she ran from me. She didn’t want to fight me, for sure."
Don't expect Rousey to sweat these remarks because she put her MMA career behind her quite some time ago and clearly isn't interested in returning now she's part of WWE. Throw in the fact that Rousey was thrashed in her final two fight and there really isn't that much of an audience for her in UFC these days and chances are that Cyborg would be able to beat her with ease at this stage.
It's a shame it never happened but who knows, perhaps Cyborg will end up in WWE herself one day! For now, though, these two women exist in very different worlds and they won't be clashing.
