A strawweight bout between Jessica Aguilar and Jodie Esquibel has been made official once again.
MMA Fighting’s Ariel Helwani confirmed with sources that Aguilar and Esquibel will fight at UFC Idaho on July 14 at the CenturyLink Arena in Boise. The two were originally set to meet at UFC Utica this past weekend, but prior to the event the New York State Athletic Commission ruled that Aguilar had a medical condition that would prevent her from competing.
Esquibel was pulled from the card as well due to the company not having a replacement on short notice.
On Wednesday, Aguilar posted a picture of herself with Esquibel announcing that the fight had been rescheduled:
Great news!! My fight has been rebooked for July 14th! I’m so happy and extremely thankful. I’d like to send out a HUGE GRACIAS to my team (my ♥️, coaches, sparring partner, friends and family), for all their help, support, love and for riding with me on this rollercoaster.
