As Expected, Commentator Mauro Ranallo Didn't End Up Appearing During Last Night's NXT

While Michael Cole claimed during Survivor Series that Mauro Ranallo would be back in time for last night's NXT, he was sadly nowhere to be seen. We do, however, have an update on his status for next week...

Over the past couple of days, we'd heard that it was unlikely Mauro Ranallo would appear during last night's episode of NXT after comments from Corey Graves on social media led to him leaving Survivor Series (he has well-publicised issues with depression and bipolar disorder).

During last night's NXT on the USA Network, Tom Phillips replaced Ranallo and there was no meaningful update on his current status. During Survivor Series, Michael Cole claimed that he blew his voice out while calling the action during NXT TakeOver: WarGames on Saturday.

However, WWE Hall of Famer Beth Phoenix did say that she looks forward to Ranallo returning next Wednesday so the company is presumably hoping he'll feel better by then. We'll be sure to keep you updated but you have to believe Graves has received a stern warning after this.
