Bad news for Drew McIntyre and his fans, as the Scotsman has now confirmed that he did indeed suffer a torn bicep during his NXT championship match at Takeover: WarGames, and might be out of action until April.

Andrade "Cien" Almas pulled out the surprise win last week at NXT Takeover: WarGames to become the new NXT champion, but it's now been confirmed that his opponent lost more than just his title.

There was speculation at the time that Drew McIntyre may have suffered a torn bicep after appearing to hold on to the top rope a fraction of a second too long right before Almas' dropped him for the super-DDT, and the former champ has now confirmed that worst with the following Tweet:



This type of injury usually takes a long time to rehab, and word is McIntyre will be out for several months. Reports indicate that he's currently aiming to be ring-ready for WrestleMania in April.
