What’s next for Jazmyn Nyx?
The former NXT star had so much promise in the developmental brand so it was genuinely shocking to see Nyx kicked out of Fatal Influence last month. That caused a ton of speculation in regards to what happened to Jazmyn, with most people figuring out that she was no longer a WWE employee.
While most guessed that correctly, it turned out to be that Nyx actually declined an offer to re-sign with the promotion. It was eventually revealed that the former NXT star rejected a new deal because it wasn’t financially liable for her to survive on the small income that WWE was offering.
Nyx has stated that she was open to reconnecting with WWE, but it doesn’t sound like the two sides have talked since her release. The 27-year-old sat down with Ariel Helwani and discussed her future in the business. At the moment, Nyx doesn’t have anything planned, but she’s keeping her options open.
“Yeah. I’m still trying to weigh out my opportunities and see what I’m going to do and where I’m going to head. I’m not sure in terms of where yet, but I’m keeping the options open and deciding from there,” she said.
Helwani asked if she was in talks with other promotions, she replied, “Not yet. I’ve been taking these past couple of weeks to figure out where my mind is at and what I want to do, and figuring out my life from here.”
Helwani dug deeper and asked where Nyx felt she could end up. The answer was quite surprising as the former NXT star also brought up reality TV, though she hasn’t ruled out wrestling whatsoever.
“I’ve always been a reality TV girl. That’s how I’ve been perceived. I think I want to do both. I want to go do these shows, if it presents itself, but I want to continue to do social media influencing and take other wrestling opportunities if they come my way. I would continue wrestling if there are other opportunities there and I probably will, I just don’t know where, when, and how. I’m still making my way.”
Nyx did say that she’s going to continue training and learn about the business. She also has no issues traveling for independent shows. Nyx doesn’t particularly name any promotions that she would like to go to, but she does seem interested in wrestling still. The former NXT star has the ability to sign anywhere right now since her contract expired, so there’s no crazy non-compete clause.
