The Mae Young Classic is going to bring together some of the best female wrestlers in the world for a tournament akin to last year's Cruiserweight Classic. That was a success for the company (despite 205 Live being something of a failure in the months which have followed), so the hope is obviously that this will follow in its footsteps.

Now, PWInsider has some new information on the event and reveal that WWE will be airing a preview of the tournament on the WWE Network on Sunday, August 20th. The first round of the tournament will be released in one go in the final week of August, while the second is coming in September. The original plan was for them to hit during SummerSlam, but WWE didn't want the event to be overshadowed by that and NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn.

The live finals were originally scheduled for Tuesday, August 29th, but they will now take place on Tuesday, September 12th instead.

It's thought that those will air live from Las Vegas as SmackDown Live is shooting there that night, but whether those in attendance will be willing to stick around for that and 205 Live is hard to say. The tournament tapes its first two rounds from Full Sail University on Thursday, July 13th and Friday, July 14th.
