We’re less than three weeks away from WWE Battleground.
Last week, Myles Borne shocked the wrestling world when he earned an NXT Championship match against Oba Femi at the upcoming pay-per-view. For the most part, Borne has been a tag wrestler throughout his NXT career. In fact, his last singles win on television was on NXT’s level up show back in January 2024. Oba Femi walks into his title match with a massive advantage, but professional wrestling isn’t short on miracles when it comes to wins.
But before Femi and Borne have their NXT title match, the former will compete against Borne’s No Quarter Catch Crew member, Charlie Dempsey, in a one-on-one non title match. Femi will remind everyone why he’s the NXT Champion in the first place.
For the first time on a WWE pay-per-view, the TNA World Championship will be defended and the heated rivalry between Joe Hendry and Trick Williams is the perfect place for Battleground. Hendry and Williams’ encounter have been filled with constant brawls and beatdowns, but what happens when these two are purposefully put in the ring together?
Jordynne Grace finally gets her one-on-one shot at the NXT Women’s Championship. The last time that happened, the former TNA star was screwed over in controversial fashion. But Stephanie Vaquer is not Roxanne Perez. The reigning NXT Women’s Champion has been a strong force in the division since she arrived last year, but her toughest test to date will be at Battleground. Now that their match is official, how will the pair co-exist going forward.
Sean Legacy (Evolve, WWE ID) made a huge splash last week on NXT. The most memorable moment from the 25-man Battle Royal was his moment with Je’Von Evans; Legacy impressed fans and officials, even though Evans sent him flying out of the ring. The Evolve star issued a challenge to Evans, will the NXT star accept?
