With last night's episode of NXT going head-to-head with AEW Dynamite for the first time since 2021, WWE made sure the show was as star-studded as possible in an effort to completely demolish the rival company.
A fearful Tony Khan took to Twitter/X to call Triple H and Shawn Michaels "bald [assholes]," an indication they'd got to him. However, did NXT live up to expectations?
The show kicked off with Cody Rhodes announcing plans for an NXT Men's Breakout Tournament and the return of the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. He also revealed that he'd been appointed the brand's special guest General Manager and later added LA Knight as referee to Ilja Dragunov and Dominik Mysterio's match for the NXT Championship.
Elsewhere, Asuka defeated Roxanne Perez, The Brawling Brutes seemingly added Tyler Bate to their ranks and John Cena was on hand for a clash with future star Bron Breakker.
Jade Cargill, meanwhile, made another cameo appearance backstage and Cena and Paul Heyman were indeed in different corners for Breakker vs. Carmelo Hayes. It was the latter who ultimately picked up the win but the show didn't end there.
After Breakker claimed to be WWE's biggest badass, The Undertaker made his way to the ring to confront the up-and-comer. Despite giving Breakker the rub, he proceeded to deliver a right hand to the rookie and laid him out with a Chokeslam.
It was a great show overall and while it's arguably not sustainable to load up the card like this on a weekly basis, we're definitely intrigued to see how AEW Dynamite fared in this latest instalment of the ratings war between each company.
