Charlie Dempsey is coming to Pro Wrestling Noah.
At NXT Homecoming, the leader of the No Quarter Catch Crew told Wren Sinclair to hold down the fort in the developmental brand as he’ll be out in Japan on a month-long excursion.
That segment ultimately ended with several NXT callbacks with Bobby Roode and Joe Hendry, but the important thing was that Dempsey confirmed his transfer over to Japan.
Pro Wrestling Noah has made it official.
The company confirmed on their social media that Dempsey and fellow EVOLVE/LFG contestant Harlem Lewis will be at the Korakuen Hall on September 23. Thus far, a match has not been confirmed for either man.
This is Dempsey’s first time in Pro Wrestling Noah. The Japanese promotion is no stranger to bringing in WWE talent as Omos infamously went on a month long excursion earlier this year. The huge shock was that the WWE star won the GHC Tag Team titles with Jack Morris after defeating Naomichi Marufuji & Takashi Sugiura. They wouldn’t keep the belts for long as Omos vacated them the following day!
In exchange, Yoshiki Inamura competed in NXT for a number of months. The Pro Wrestling Noah star even got a chance to challenge Oba Femi for the NXT Championship at the Great American Bash PLE. Dempsey claims that he’ll be gone for a month, but given that he really hasn’t done anything of significance lately then it wouldn’t be too surprising if he stayed a bit longer.
While this may be the second generation’s star first time in Noah, Dempsey has been a representative for WWE throughout the last two years competing in promotions such as Bloodsport, Game Changer Wrestling, and even TNA! We’ll see in the coming months what Mr. Dempsey does in the Japanese promotion. He'll surely have some great matches against numerous Noah talents.
As far as Harlem Lewis goes, he’s been mainly working the live events in NXT. Lewis is notable for his time on the Legends & Future Greats show, but he doesn’t have much experience in wrestling as he just started training in 2024. His excursion is simply about adapting to new styles and getting better inside of the squared circle. It should be a great experience for both men.
