WWE Reportedly Has Some Huge Plans For Former NXT Champion Bobby Roode

Bobby Roode captured the NXT Championship back in January when he defeated Shinsuke Nakamura but he finally dropped the title this weekend when he was taken down by Drew McIntyre at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III. If you assumed that he would be making the leap to the main roster shortly, then pat yourself on the back as that is indeed what's in the works.

According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is high on Roode and view him as someone who has the potential to be a "top-five" star on the main roster.

In fact, he could be getting called up at some point in the next couple of weeks, news which probably shouldn't come as a surprise seeing as McIntyre was taken down by Adam Cole.

"Bobby Roode still has the Roderick Strong thing to blow off, but it could be that Roode’s on the main roster real soon," Meltzer claims. "There are gonna be guys coming up [to the main roster]. The tea leaves read like Roode’s on his way, and he should be on his way, and they’re super high on Roode right now. Wherever he goes, I think he’ll be top five on the brand, get the big push."

SmackDown Live just lost John Cena to RAW so it may be worth keeping a very close eye on that show tonight! What do you guys think? Share your thoughts in the usual place.
