Tonight is a big one for Drake Maverick.

The former 24/7 Champion will face Kushida in the NXT Interim Cruiserweight Championship tournament and if Maverick fails to beat the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, then the 37-year-old is officially out of the competition.

Before Maverick’s big match-up, WWE has uploaded a mini-documentary chronicling the former 205 Live GM's journey up until now. The emotional video highlights Maverick’s time outside of the company, with footage from PROGRESS WRESTLING shown highlighting his wrestling ability.

Maverick briefly talks about his time in Impact Wrestling (though no footage is shown), most notably, his matches against Kurt Angle and Jeff Hardy. The former WWE star also speaks about his early beginnings as a kid, how seeing guys like Hulk Hogan, Rey Mysterio, and Spike Dudley made him want to become a professional wrestler, his dislike for being placed as the General Manager of 205 Live, and so much more!

There’s also a recap on his matches against Jake Atlas and former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Tony Nese. Check out the mini-documentary chronicling Drake Maverick’s journey leading up to the NXT Interim Cruiserweight Championship tournament:
