WWE Will No Longer Hold An NXT TAKEOVER Special During Next Year's ROYAL RUMBLE Weekend

The Royal Rumble 2020 travel packages have been announced but one major event has been changed and it might just have an impact on how interested some fans will be in attending the show.

What was supposed to be an NXT TakeOver special is now going to be "Worlds Collide." As you may recall, that show previously took place at Axxess and was later aired on the WWE Network. The mathes included talent from NXT, NXT UK, 205 Live, and EVOLVE.

It's become tradition for TakeOver to air before a big WWE PPV but that clear won't be the case in 2020 for the Royal Rumble and it's hard not to wonder if this might have something to with the developmental brand's move to the USA Network. It's also possible that WWE no longer wants fans to be burned out by the time the main PPV rolls around.

Either way, we'll be sure to keep you guys updated as we learn more.
