IMPACT WRESTLING Announces That Michael Elgin Will No Longer Appear On Television Moving Forward

Although he hasn't been fired outright (possibly due to come clause in his contract), Michael Elgin will no longer appear on any upcoming episodes of Impact Wrestling after allegations of sexual misconduct.

Following the news that IMPACT Wrestling World Champion Tessa Blanchard has been stripped of her title and had her contract terminated, the promotion has announced that Michael Elgin will no longer be appearing on television.

The official statement reads: "Impact Wrestling announced that Michael Elgin will not be appearing in any further Impact Wrestling programming.”

Why Elgin hasn't been fired outright is unclear, but it may have something to do with a clause in his contract. In other words, there's a chance he'll remain on IMPACT's books until his contract expires, even though they won't be utilizing him on TV. It's also worth noting that IMPACT’s website has removed the wrestler from its roster page and his merch is no longer available.

Along with several other prominent pro-wrestlers, Elgin was recently accused of sexual misconduct (and not for the first time). He was scheduled to be involved in a Fatal 4-Way match along with Blanchard at Slammiversary, so it looks like IMPACT is going to have to rethink that bout entirely at this point. A tournament to crown a new champion, perhaps? Time will tell.

What do you guys make of this news? Do you think Elgin's absence will be a blow to the roster?
