The on-going battle between Killer Kross and Impact Wrestling is finally over, as the promotion has
confirmed the release of the 34-year-old.
Earlier in May, it was first reported that the New York native requested his release from the promotion, which was ultimately denied by Impact. Kross spoke to
Fightful and revealed that he was looking for a pay guarantee from the promotion and when it was turned down, he asked to be released from his contract.
While Impact didn’t let him go, Kross still worked television tapings until Slammiversary; however, officials were reportedly angry at him for refusing to blade in his first blood match against Eddie Edwards. Since that pay-per-view, Kross has been off of television and mainly working independent events such as AAA shows.
Impact had the option of rolling over his contract for a year; however, the company opted to let him go. Kross teased his future in a video upon his release, showing clips from WWE, NJPW, MLW, and NWA. Interestingly enough, AEW wasn’t featured in the video.
Kross should find success no matter where he goes. Though, with his real-life girlfriend Scarlett Bordeaux signing with WWE recently, don’t be surprised if he ends up with the company. Given the fact that he’s a tall guy, he does have a shot at being the next big thing in WWE.
