Joey Ryan and Dave Christ are officially gone from Impact Wrestling.
Following the numerous allegations surrounding the two talents, Impact Wrestling released a statement confirming that the company has terminated the contracts of both men effectively on Monday. Michael Elgin has been suspended until further notice:
“IMPACT Wrestling confirms that it has terminated its contracts with Dave Crist and Joey Ryan, effective immediately. In addition, it has suspended Michael Elgin pending further review of allegations of misconduct.”
Countless stories about Joey Ryan have come to light ever since the #Speakingout movement began last week. Most notably, a former girlfriend alleged Ryan choked her and was verbally abusive. Wrestler Rok-C says Ryan began a flirting with her when she was just 17 years old.
The former Impact star originally issued out an apology on social media and claimed that he has been getting counseling since 2018 for his issues; however, many criticized the 35-year-old for his statement including Joey Janela and his former roommate Ryan Nemeth. Since his comments, Ryan has remained silent and deactivated his social media accounts all together.
His account for Bar Wrestling has also been deactivated, and according to Steve Bryant of SoCalUncensored, the promotion is done. Sources told the reporter that Bootleg Theater, the home of Bar Wrestling in Los Angeles, have ended their relationship with the company. Ryan founded Bar Wrestling back in 2017.
Crist has been accused of multiple accounts of sexual assault and misconduct. According to PWInsider, the former Impact star had major heat with the roster and was set to be released from his contract prior to the allegations coming to light. Behavioral problems was cited as the main source for his heat backstage. Crist has been silent on the entire situation regarding the accusations against him.
Elgin has been accused of sending unwanted nude photos to women, among other old incidents. There’s no word on how long the former ROH World Champion could be out; however, he’s most likely out of the Impact World title match at Slammiversary.
