IMPACT WRESTLING's BOUND FOR GLORY Predictions: Will Rich Swann Become The Next World Champion?

The biggest show for Impact Wrestling will finally happen this Saturday with Rich Swann vs. Eric Young set to main event Bound For Glory. Get our predictions on the company's annual pay-per-view on Oct. 24.

Saturday will feature four big championship matches on the pay-per-view. Thus far, seven matches are set for the card. As always, these are just our predictions with no insider knowledge. Let’s get started with the first match:

Impact World Championship match: Eric Young (c) vs. Rich Swann

Impact has done an excellent job building up Rich Swann as a babyface. Young has excelled in his heel role as well. Since Swann’s strong showing in the No. 1 contender's Gauntlet match featuring Tessa Blanchard, Brian Cage, Moose, Daga, and Michael Elgin, the company has been slowly building up the former X-Division Champion as a future main event player, which is why Swann will get the big win here. As great as a character that Young has been, I don’t see him being anything other than a transitional champion.

Granted, it’s not too far fetched that Young keeps his title by nefarious means and the feud continues, but this is the company’s biggest show of the year, thus Bound For Glory is the perfect event to give Swann's story a happy ending. Swann and Young will likely have a rematch or two, but at the end of the day, the former X-Division Champion is walking out with the world title.

Winner: Rich Swann

Impact Knockouts Championship match: Deonna Purrazzo (c) vs. Kylie Rae

This one is a bit harder to pick. Impact officials are clearly high on Rae and she will definitely win the knockouts title eventually. However, it feels like Purrazzo’s reign is only beginning and there’s so much more mileage you can get out of the former WWE superstar.

Purrazzo carries herself like a star and it baffles that AEW didn’t try to snatch her after her strong run thus far (Note: I don’t know if the company did offer her a deal or not, so I could be spewing unnecessary garbage if Purrazzo simply passed on an AEW deal). Like I said before, Kylie Rae WILL become the Impact Knockouts Champion.

However, I just don’t see this being the end of Purrazzo’s reign. Rae winning here wouldn’t be a surprise, but my money (or at least some of it) is on “The Virtuosa”.

Winner: Deonna Purrazzo

Four-Way match for the Impact World Tag Team Championship: “The Motor City Machine Guns” Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin (c) vs. “The Good Brothers” Doc Gallows and Karl Anderson vs. “The North” Josh Alexander and Ethan Page vs. Ace Austin and Madman Fulton

I’m going to eliminate The Motor City Machine Guns and The North from winning. Shelley isn’t signed to the promotion full time and I suspect that Ethan Page is on his way out of the company. Plus, The North are coming off a long title reign, so it makes no sense to give them back the gold due to the lack of fresh challengers.

The win here seems prime for The Good Brothers, but I feel that Gallows and Anderson will win the belts in a singles contest. Perhaps I’m over analyzing as all signs point to them winning; however, this is the perfect match for a heel to sneak a win and escape with the titles, meaning that this fits right up the alley of Ace Austin and Madman Fulton. I wouldn’t be too surprised if Gallows and Anderson emerged victorious here, but the duo have been booked too strong leading up to BFG, which usually means that the likelihood of them winning is slim to none.

Winner: Ace Austin and Madman Fulton

Six-Way Scramble match for the X-Division Championship match: Rohit Raju (c) vs. Chris Bey vs. Trey Miguel vs. Willie Mack vs. Jordynne Grace vs. TJP

I’m torn on this match as well. I don’t feel that it’s time for Raju to drop the belt, but his character screams transitional champion. The only person I see winning here is Trey Miguel. Willie Mack and Chris Bey have had their time with the X-Division Championship – though some can argue that Bey lost the belt way too soon – and TJP feels like a glorified enhancement talent at this point in Impact. Grace is here for “reasons”. No disrespect to the former Impact Knockouts Champion, but her challenging for the X-Division title came out of nowhere.

Miguel has been the one that’s received a solid push in the main event scene and I can see him winning the X-Division title eventually. However, Raju has the opportunistic, chickens**t heel character and we’re just scratching the surface of his title reign. Still, Miguel has lost every major title match he’s been in thus far and the company can’t continue to present him as a high stakes loser, thus I’m picking him as the winner of the scramble match, but I will not bet my house on it.

Winner: Trey Miguel

Unsanctioned match: EC3 vs. Moose

This is the former TNA World Heavyweight Champion’s first match back so it makes no sense to kill his momentum this quick. Moose’s self-proclaimed TNA World Heavyweight title reign has an expiration date and unless someone in the vein of AJ Styles or Samoa Joe makes their return to the company, this gimmick will end on Saturday.

Winner: EC3

Eddie Edwards vs. Ken Shamrock w/Sami Callihan

Eddie Edwards. I guess. The thing is, there’s no clear motivation on the sudden partnership of Shamrock and Callihan. Why are they targeting Eddie Edwards? What’s the purpose behind their alliance? Why is Shamrock a puppet for Sami Callihan? Until these questions are answered, then the man with an actual drive to fight on Saturday gets my vote as the winner.

Winner: Eddie Edwards

The Call Your Shot gauntlet match (Entrants: Heath, Rhino, Hernandez, Acey Romero, Larry D, Tenille Dashwood, Taya Valkyrie, Brian Myers, Tommy Dreamer, Havok, 10 TBA).

This really comes down to Rhino and Heath. If neither man wins on Saturday, then what was the purpose of wasting our time with Heath trying to get a job in the company? I’m a bit surprised that Heath doesn’t have the No. 1 spot here as it’s the easiest way to build up drama as he gets down to the finals of the match-up; however, Rhino winning for the former WWE superstar shouldn’t be the ideal scenario as Heath should be the star showcased in the match. Either way, expect to see Heath continue to fight on Impact Wrestling.

Winner: Heath
