Sami Callihan is your new Impact World Champion!
After being around the main event scene for nearly two years, “The Draw” has finally captured the Impact World Championship during the recent set of tapings. Callihan successfully defeated Brian Cage in a Steel Cage match; however, his celebration was short lived as former Knockouts Champion and major rival, Tessa Blanchard, came out and challenged him to world title match.
At Bound For Glory, Cage defeated Callihan in a violent No Disqualification match. Many fans and critics assumed that the 32-year-old would win the championship at the big show, with Blanchard set to continue her feud with the oVe leader. There’s no word on whether Impact changed plans or if Cage was always set to retain his title at BFG.
The Steel Cage match will air this Tuesday on Impact’s debut with AXS TV.
