Vince McMahon Wouldn't Let Triple H And Batista Have A Hell In A Cell Match At WRESTLEMANIA

In a new interview, Dave Bautista reveals that Vince McMahon said no when he and Triple H wanted to square off in a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania. Why? You can find out after the jump...

Earlier this year, Dave Bautista returned to WWE for one final match against Triple H at WrestleMania. It was a great, No Holds Barred showdown that received rave reviews but it turns out that both men had much bigger plans for their bout.

Talking to Chris Jericho, Buatista revealed that, "Originally, we wanted to have a Hell in a Cell but Vince, because of the pay-per-view [of the same name], he didn’t want to have a Hell In A Cell, and we really wanted Hell In A Cell. They’re just great matches, they’re violent. We needed bells and whistles."

"We’re two older guys, we hadn’t wrestled in a long time and we needed the drama," he continued. "We’ve already got the history, so we just needed the violence."

That all makes sense so why didn't it happen? Well, Vince McMahon said no because he didn't want a Hell in a Cell match on the card when they have a PPV named after that stipulation (which often features at least two of them). It seems he forgot how many Hell in a Cell matches have taken place at the Show of Shows before now (including once in 2016 featuring his son).

Do you guys wish we'd seen these two in a Hell in a Cell match at WrestleMania?
