It's no secret that WWE's ratings are a fraction of what they used to be during The Attitude Era and now a new report from Fightful claims that WWE's plan is to bring back a "lost generation" of wrestling fans. Apparently, the company is hoping to target the advertiser friendly 18 - 34 demographic, a portion of the audience they're currently struggling to attract.
There was reportedly a big spike in teen interest in RAW last week for the first show of the Paul Heyman era and it sounds like Vince McMahon has finally come to terms with the fact that WWE needs to implement some big changes if they hope to keep attracting fans (the current age of viewers tuning in is surprisingly old).
After the company tried to implement a number of new approaches - such as turning the lights off during the third hour of RAW - which didn't last, it sounds like they're finally intent on lasting changes, hence why Paul Heyman and Eric Bischoff have been given new roles. Time will tell whether any of this will pay off, of course, but here's hoping because it's definitely needed.
