Back in the Best of the Super Juniors, Shingo Takagi was a force to be reckoned with as the former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion set a record of 18 points and went into the finals undefeated.

Takagi ultimately loss to Will Ospreay and surely the Los Ingobernables de Japon member was looking to erase that result with another dominant performance in the G1 Climax; however, it simply wasn’t meant to be, as former IWGP United States Champion Juice Robinson walked out with the victory here.

Takagi brought the fight to Robinson and even used some underhanded tactics along the way, but the 30-year-old was able to mount a strong comeback with a pair of Hand Of God punches and then Pulp Friction for a three count.
