The 2019 Super J-Cup is less than two months away and the Japanese promotion is starting to announce the participants of the competition.
The first wrestler confirmed for the show is former IWGP Junior Tag Team Champion SHO. The second is former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion and CMLL regular Dragon Lee. The final name announced is former WWE Cruiserweight Champion TJP.
The former 205 Live star actually started out his career in New Japan Pro Wrestling, as he trained in the Inoki Dojo in Los Angeles along with Ricky Reyes, Rocky Romero, and Daniel Bryan.
The last time TJP competed in the New Japan promotion was back in 2011 in the Best of the Super Juniors tournament; TJP ultimately finished seventh in the round-robin style competition. The former Cruiserweight Champion has been working the indie scene and Impact Wrestling since being released from WWE earlier this year.
The Super J-Cup starts on August 22 at the Temple Theater in Tacoma, heads to the San Francisco State University Student Life Event Center in San Francisco on August 24 and concludes at Walter Pyramid in Long Beach the following day.
