It’s been previously reported that Hiromu Takahashi could be making his return to New Japan Pro Wrestling within the coming months.
At the G1 Supercard event in Madison Square Garden, the very man that put Takahashi on the shelf (accidentally, of course) won the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title in a great three-way dance involving Bandido and Taiji Ishimori. Is the company building up to Dragon Lee vs. a returning Hiromu Takahashi?
It certainly seems that way and the newly crowned IWGP Junior Heavyweight champion would love to face-off against the Los Ingobernables de Japon member once again. Before his big match at MSG, Dragon Lee did an interview with
Solo Wrestling and they questioned Lee on possibly winning and then defending the title against Hiromu (transcript courtesy of fightful.com):
"Of course. The first thing is to win that championship, then what comes next, but it's good to dream. What I miss are those struggles. I think [those] have been [some] of the most painful days that I have dawned, the days where I have been more bruised, more beaten ... They have been with Hiromu. As much to me, as to him, as to the liking [of the fans], they have liked those fights. In Mexico they threw money at us and it became a very famous fight. He came to Japan, he came to the United States. I think it is something international that has been given and I am very happy with these great events." Dragon Lee said. "I just know that I will take this opportunity and I will be champion tomorrow so that the American public knows who Dragon Lee is. I have conquered the Latin audience, the Japanese and I just need the one from here in America."
Dragon Lee is currently apart of the Road To Wrestling Dontaku tour with the New Japan roster.
