The rules for the Texas Death match have been clarified.

During the finals of the World Tag League tournament, Jon Moxley made his shocking return by attacking IWGP United States Champion Lance Archer. The former WWE superstar would then issue a Texas Death match challenge for Wrestle Kingdom 14.

New Japan has officially clarified the rules of the Texas Death match, which states that victory can only happen via 10-count knockout or submission. There are no disqualifications and pinfalls.

Moxley hasn’t competed in the Japanese promotion since losing a tag team match involving Juice Robinson back at the finals of the G1 Climax tournament. He was originally set to defend the IWGP United States title against Robinson at King of Pro Wrestling in October; however, Moxley was forced to miss the event due to travel from Typhoon Hagibis.

The company stripped Moxley of the belt and Archer won the title by defeating Robinson in a No DQ match. The two will collide on January 4th, with the winner facing Juice Robinson on the 5th.
