Seven competitors have been confirmed for the Pure Championship Tournament.

Following Ring of Honor’s announcement of their return to live events later this month, the company will resume with the 16-man tournament that was originally set to take place back in April. Thus far, Jay Lethal, Jonathan Gresham, Matt Sydal, David Finlay, Tracy Williams, Josh Woods and Wheeler Yuta, are confirmed for the tournament.

Due to travel restrictions, international talents such as Doug Williams, Mark Haskins, Slex, Joe Hendry, Yuji Nagata and Ren Narita, will no longer compete at the show. There’s no word on who the other nine talents will be; however, ROH may end up digging more into the New Japan Pro-Wrestling talent pool as the likes of Jeff Cobb, Tama Tonga, or KENTA could participate in the 16-man tournament, though that’s just pure speculation on my end.

One name that most likely won’t be added to the competition is Marty Scurll. The former ROH World Television Champion was originally announced as a participant earlier this year; however, Scurll is currently under investigation for the allegations that were made against him during the speaking out movement. Scurll has also been removed from his position as the head booker, with Delirious taking over the lead role.
