Will Matt Taven leave Ring of Honor next month?

The current ROH World Champion is scheduled to put his title on the line against RUSH this Saturday at Death Before Dishonor; however, the other big news is that Taven’s contract is set to expire at the end of the month. The Kingdom member sat down and spoke with Jay Reddick of the Orlando Sentinel and discussed his ROH contract expiring at this month:

“This is a life-changing decision and a million different things go into it, so I have to weigh my options. No matter what, I’m grateful for every opportunity I’ve been given so far in my career and I don’t forget where I came from. I’m just going into this with an open mind and let the chips fall where they may.”

At the moment, there’s no word on where The Kingdom member could end up. Taven does state during the interview that he wanted to keep his decision quiet until the time comes.

His ROH World Title match-up against RUSH could be a strong indication on whether Taven is staying with the independent promotion. Of course, Taven can retain the title at Death Before Dishonor and drop the belt during the DBD Fallout Tapings. We’ll keep you updated on when there’s confirmation on the ROH World Champion’s future.
