Last night, Kota Ibushi defended the IWGP NEVER Openweight championship against Will Ospreay and the United Kingdom native was able to come out on top. Check out some highlights of the title bout.

Kicking off Wrestle Kingdom 13 was the dream match, Kota Ibushi vs. Will Ospreay.

The two well-known high flyers started off the show on a frantic and extremely fun note, displaying their signature acrobatic moves and impressive counters.

The match set the tone for the rest of the evening as Will Ospreay was able to score the victory after connecting with the Stormbreaker. This is Ospreay’s first time winning the IWGP NEVER Openweight championship.

It appears that New Japan is running an injury angle with Kota Ibushi as the former champion was stretchered out of the arena after the match. Check out the highlights of the NEVER Openweight championship bout below:
