The Guerrillas Of Destiny Capture The IWGP Tag Team Titles At NEW BEGINNING USA IN ATLANTA
It was a newsworthy weekend for New Japan Pro Wrestling, as Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa of The Guerrillas Of Destiny captured the IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championships during the New Beginning show in Atlanta.
The first of two title changes took place over the weekend in New Japan Pro Wrestling!
For the sixth time in their careers, Tama Tonga & Tonga Loa of The Guerrillas of Destiny won the IWGP Tag Team Championships during the New Beginning show in Atlanta, Georgia.
The duo originally dropped the straps to the 2019 World Tag League winners FinJuice (David Finlay & Juice Robinson) back at Wrestle Kingdom 14. Prior to the defeat, Tonga & Loa were champions for nearly a year, having beaten teams such as SANADA & EVIL, Aussie Open’s Mark David and Kyle Fletcher, and The Briscoes.
Unfortunately for the duo of David Finlay and Juice Robinson, their first title reign together was a very short one as the team held the belts for only 28 days. This was their first title defense. G.O.D ties the team of Tenzan and Satoshi Kojima with the most tag team title reigns in New Japan.
