Karrion Kross became the new NXT Champion at TakeOver: XXX this past Saturday, but immediately after his war with Keith Lee, it was revealed that he'd suffered a shoulder injury during the match. Speculation ran rampant that he'd be forced to relinquish the title, but, thankfully, it doesn't look like that's going to be the case.

During an interview with ESPN, Kross confirmed that his shoulder was separated during the bout, but is confident that he won't have to take too much time away from the ring in order to heal up and rehab.

"From my point of view, no," Kross said when asked if he believes his injury will lead to a significant amount of time on the shelf. "[Due to] how I feel and what I've heard, I don't know. I'm very intuitive with my body. And the range of emotion that I have right now, while it's not what I would like it to be, for me personally, it would indicate to me that I'm going to get be able to get through this without any sort of extreme measures, so to speak. In my opinion, today."

Of course, that decision may be taken out of his hands.

The Duke of Doom and Scarlett have been advertised to open tonight's episode of NXT, so we should get a better idea of where things stand with the championship then.
