People have wanted to see Killer Karrion Kross go one-on-one with Brock Lesnar long before he debuted in NXT, but now that the Duke of Doom is forging a path of destruction through the black and gold brand, the likelihood of actually seeing the match someday has increased significantly.
While chatting to Gorilla Position, Kross was asked who his dream WrestleMania opponent would be, and, like so many before him, named The Beast Incarnate as the man he believes to be the biggest draw of the modern era.
"For me, the measuring stick would essentially be who can draw the most into a building and who can draw the most attention. I think that [Brock] is a guy that transcended sports entertainment. He is in mainstream entertainment. I think that figures like that in our business are pretty important. We always need new fans. We always want to create new fans. I think there are people who can engage the hardcore fans nonstop, easily, no problem, the purists I guess you can say. Then there are people that have a mainstream entertainment appeal."
Kross only debuted in NXT fairly recently, so it'll probably be a long time before this match is on anyone's radar. Plus, to say that WWE hasn't always seen the money starring them in the face (hi Bobby Lashly) when it comes to dream matches fans want to see would be an understatement.
For now, The Duke of Doom seems focused on Keith Lee and his newly won NXT Championship, and that's something of a dream match in its own right!
