Rhea Ripley and Mercedes Martinez settled their differences in a steel cage in the main event of NXT's second "Super Tuesday" special, and The Nightmare came away with the win.

It was clear that this was going to be a hard-hitting affair right from the off when Ripley attacked Mercedes before they even entered the cage, throwing a chair and table in ahead of her. Both women then traded stiff shots with everything they could lay their hands on, but Robert Stone's involvement ultimately proved to be his client's undoing.

After smashing her opponent's head off Stone's after he attempted to climb into the ring, Ripley was able to send Martinez crashing through the table with a Riptide from the turnbuckle and win the match via pinfall.

This was great stuff, but we can't help but feel they rushed what could have been a much longer feud by having a cage match way too early. Maybe they wanted to get Ripley back into the Women's Championship picture as soon as possible, but it still feels like a wasted opportunity.

For what it's worth, Stone announced that Martinez is no longer part of the Robert Stone Brand after the match, so there's a chance she may be turning face.
