Alberto El Patron Says He's Apologized To Triple H And Wants To Return To WWE

El Patron has not endeared himself to.. well, anyone in recent months, but the former Impact Wrestling champion now claims to have turned over a new leaf and hopes to return to WWE at some point in the future.

Despite behaving like a complete asshole (sorry, 'Berto, but you know it's true) since leaving WWE and finding himself in hot water for a variety of things, former Impact Wrestling and WWE champ Alberto El Patron, a.k.a. Alberto Del Rio, is hopeful that a return to the company is possible.

During an interview with Medio Tiempo (via Sportskeeda.com), Patron reveals that he's since apologized to Triple H for the remarks he made about him, and is confident that something can be worked out.

"I apologized to Triple H for the issues we were in when I was with the relationship with my ex-partner. She and her entire family made me believe that those who affected our relationship were them, specifically him. Of course, I would go back (to WWE), I would not go back fulltime, but I would make a special appearance before I put on my wrestling boots and it will surely happen, surely before I retire I will do something special with them. I see a very difficult 2018, but in 2019 before leaving I'm definitely going to do something with them, we shook hands and everything is fine right now. Time heals wounds."

Some of what he said may have been lost in translation, but it seems very clear that he wants to mend the bridges he's burned along the way.

Patron has previously hinted that he's planning to retire soon, and seemingly confirms that'll happen in the next couple of years. Hopefully he does get to have another run in WWE before then, because he's a hell of a talent.
