The McMahon family is well-known to wrestling fans but someone we've never spent any time with is Vince's little-known brother Roderick. Well, believe it or not, the plan was to bring him to WWE programming at one point for a storyline which would have kicked off in 2007 following the presumed "death" of Vince after his limousine exploded with him inside.
"I always think what could've been because we were gearing up to do something with Vince's little-known brother Roderick," former WWE writer Court Bauer said. "His family was going to come in the following week and be part of the funeral for Vince McMahon and I was always pushing that I would love to get another side of the McMahon family involved with WWE. I think it would've been fascinating because people forget that Vince has a brother and I think that that story would've been amazing."
Bauer went on to explain that he was hoping to portray Roderick as the complete opposite of his brother and that his children could have even become involved for some cousin vs. cousin battles too.
"How Vince the tycoon he is, the ruthlessly aggressive guy, you know, took over the family business," Bauer added. "His poor brother, what happened to him? And now there's a refresh on the McMahon dynasty and all of the rivalries and stuff you could tell now, all of these new stories that are there because Roderick has children that you could play with in this setting."
In theory, it sounds like a great idea but it was scrapped - along with the mystery of what happened to Vince - after Chris Benoit's death because he had to return to the public eye. At this point, it's pretty clear the storyline will never happen but it's probably inevitable that Triple H, Stephanie, and Shane's children will all one day become involved in the business.
