SPOILERS: WWE Has Already Decided On The Main Event Of WRESTLEMANIA 34
Believe it or not, it appears as if WWE has already decided on the main event of WrestleMania 34 and it's a decision sure to divide opinions as the company forges ahead with their plan for Roman Reigns.
Dave Meltzer has dropped quite the bombshell in the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, as he reveals that the current plan for the main event of WrestleMania 34 on April 8th, 2017 is Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship. He notes that this doesn't mean Reigns will beat The Undertaker or that Lesnar will have a one-year run with the title after taking down Goldberg, but it's possible!
The plan was for Reigns to dethrone Lesnar two years ago at WrestleMania 31, but negative fan reaction meant Seth Rollins cashed in and became champion instead. Reigns would go on to beat Triple H last year and got his big moment, but it did nothing to turn the tide in terms of fan support and make him the next John Cena as Vince McMahon and company clearly hope will be the case.
Meltzer actually confirms that the idea is for Reigns to remain a face between now and next year's WrestleMania with his coronation cementing him as the lead babyface of the company, taking over from Cena. Plenty could change between now and then of course, especially with another Draft in the works, but for now, it apparent that the company intends to push ahead with their plans for Reigns whether fans like it or not.
