Recently, the former ROH World Tag Team Champion re-signed a deal with the promotion and Brody King revealed on
Newsweek why he ultimately decided to stay with Ring of Honor.
Since his debut with the company in late 2018, King was positioned at the top of the card as part of the Villain Enterprises act with Marty “The Villain” Scurll and PCO. It didn’t take long for the 32-year-old to win gold, as King and PCO won the ROH World Tag Team titles at the 17th Anniversary show and ended up capturing the ROH Six-Man Tag Team titles a short time later.
So given the way that the company has treated King as a top star, it wasn’t a hard decision for him to stay in business with Ring of Honor:
"I wouldn't say it was easy. In the current climate of wrestling, or whatever you want to call it, there are so many options for a wrestler out there. And I'd say that right now there's no better time to be a wrestler. But as far as how I dealt with business with Ring of Honor and the way they treated me, it was a much easier decision to stay with them and move forward with what we've been doing with Villain Enterprises and all the plans we have going forward," King said.
The Villain Enterprises member also has aspirations to be in the main event scene as a singles competitor this year:
"2019 was a proving period for me, and I think 2020 is me pushing forward and proving that I'm an asset to the company. I'm an incredible performer and I would love to have a good singles run. I would love to go for some championships. I'm not there to be a low-to-midcard guy. I'm there to be the main event, and that's what I'm going to try and prove," King said.
