Hiroshi Tanahashi and Yugi Nagata aren’t leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling anytime soon.

Both men announced on social media that they have re-signed with the company, though the exact details of their contracts were not revealed. Thanks to google translation, Tanahashi's statement is, “The player contract with New Japan Pro Wrestling has been updated. I will do my best next year. Thank you!"

Tanahashi has been with the company since his debut back in 1999, and managed to win the G1 Climax three times and the prestigious IWGP Heavyweight Championship eight times.

For Nagata, he states, "Christmas Eve this year is really cold. It may be the coldest in the past few years (laugh) Such a contract was renewed today. Thank you for New Japan Pro-Wrestling Hiroshi Nagata in 2020"

Nagata has been with the promotion since 1992, and won the IWGP Heavyweight Championship on two separate occassions. The 51-year-old is also a former G1 Climax winner as well. Numerous contracts in New Japan Pro Wrestling will expire around this time so more news about re-signings is expected to come.
