Will we see KENTA vs. Katsuyori Shibata at Wrestle Kingdom 14?

The 39-year-old made a shocking return at the G1 Climax tournament finals by attacking his former protégé, NEVER Openweight Champion KENTA. The former WWE star turned heel during the event and joined the Bullet Club faction. Shibata cleaned house briefly before succumbing to the numbers game.

At Power Struggle, the NEVER Openweight Champion attacked Shibata during the IWGP Intercontinental Championship match. KENTA would lay in some hard kicks to the chest of Shibata, and then helped Jay White retain his belt against Hiroko Goto.

At last word, there weren't any plans for Shibata to make an in-ring return, as the former NEVER Openweight Champion had not been cleared for in-ring competition. However, that update was back in August, and Dave Meltzer made note that “things could change” down the line.

With the latest attack on Katsuyori Shibata, it’s possible that we’ll see his face KENTA at Wrestle Kingdom 14, though that’s just pure speculation at the moment.
