The NWA has announced that former WWE Superstar Mickie James has officially joined the promotion and will serve as an executive producer on their all-women's PPV on Saturday, August 28: "NWA in Power."

There will be a second PPV, NWA 73, airing on PPV the following night that's set to be their anniversary show. Both will take place in St. Louis, while TV tapings are set to follow those events on August 30 and 31.

"I can’t even begin to say how excited for this. But even more for the journey ahead," James says in the Instagram post below. "For 80 years we have all watched television wrestling from a male's perspective. Always the good ol’ boys club. It’s about damn time for the world to see it from a real woman’s vision. A show for the women, by the women. I’ve been wanting to do this right for a very long time. Now I can. My way, our way!"

"I’m building my team. A team of champions. Of history makers. Of foundation layers. Women who share the same dream as I do. To change the game forever. This is only the beginning. If you build it, they will come..."

It's pretty amazing that James has been given this opportunity, especially as James was told by a WWE executive that women don't draw money in pro wrestling and that there wouldn't be another Evolution PPV.
