"Switchblade" Jay White Scores A Surprise Win Over Kota Ibushi At WRESTLE KINGDOM

Kota Ibushi did not have a very successful showing at Wrestle Kingdom... to put it mildly.

Fans really thought it might be Ibushi's time, and although Tesuya Naito was tipped to ultimately come out on top in the Double Gold Dash and capture both titles, many figured he's be facing The Golden Star in the final bout.

Unfortunately for Ibushi, he ended up losing to Kazuchika Okada last night, and Jay White was able to rub salt in that wound by defeating him again during Night 2 of the event.

Okada managed to force Kota to unleash his dark side during their match, and that was on full display here as the initially apathetic Ibushi viciously attacked his opponent with hard-hitting strikes. In the end, though, Switchblade was able to weather the storm and after Gedo got involved with a pair of brass knuckles, he hot the Blade Runner for the win.

There's a lot of speculation that Ibushi will now turn heel, and it seems like a safe bet after these devastating losses.
