NXT's Adam Cole Releases A Statement Apologizing For His Behavior On Pat McAfee's Show

Pat McAfee invited Adam Cole on to his radio show for a chat last week, and things soon became heated.

The host continually poked and prodded the former NXT Champion, and the last straw for Cole was being called "kind of small" when McAfee was comparing him to Shawn Michaels. The Panama City Playboy shoved his mic to the ground and walked menacingly towards his interviewer, before shoving a producer away when he attempted to calm the situation.

Now, Cole has released a statement in which he apologizes for his actions.

“I’ve had the weekend to think about everything, and it’s still hard to put into words where to begin. First of all, to anyone that I offended, I apologize. I apologize because I represent a brand that commands respect. Not just because of what we do in the ring, but how we handle ourselves outside the ring. Even though he continued to push my buttons, I still should have kept my composure and acted like a professional. I’m embarrassed by my reaction, and I will make sure something like that never happens again. Thanks for the continued support everyone.”

This was clearly a work, but the fact that so many didn't seem to be sure means it was a success. Where it's leading is anyone's guess, but McAfee has had dealing with WWE in the past and has even had a bit of training.

At the end of the day, if this results in McAfee eating a couple of Last Shots and a Panama Sunrise it'll be well worth it.
