Could Oba Femi and Giulia be your next NXT Champions?

Oba Femi beat Je’Von Evans, Wes Lee, Nathan Frazer, and Ethan Page in the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge.

In the opening match of NXT Deadline, former NXT North American Champion Oba Femi was revealed to be the fifth man in the Iron Survivor Challenge. For 25-minutes, it was a chaotic match that had Ethan Page and Je’Von Evans tied at 2 wins a piece.

However, that changed when Femi hit a giant chokeslam on both Wes Lee and Nathan Frazer. He covered both men at the same time with less than a minute on the clock. Oba Femi was ahead with 3 wins, and though Evans hit Femi with a beautiful cutter, the clock ran out before he could get the win.

Oba Femi will be the next challenger for the NXT Championship.

Giulia beat Sol Ruca, Stephanie Vaquer, Zaria, Giulia, and Wren Sinclair in the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge.

In the main event, the ladies had their own Iron Survivor Challenge and it was booked where each woman got one win a piece. The clock was running down to the wire and it seemed that the match would end in a five way tie.

That all changed when Giulai hit a devastating knee onto Zaria and pinned her for the three count. Stephanie Vaquer tried to secure a tie, but the clock ran out before she could get a three count.

After a screwy finish in their first match, Giulia will get a second chance at taking the NXT Women’s Championship off of Roxanne Perez.

Trick Williams defeated Ridge Holland to retain the NXT Championship.

Trick Williams didn’t have time to worry about Oba Femi because he had to get through Ridge Holland first. Not surprisingly, Holland gave the NXT Champion a run for his money and the nearfall after he hit a DDT seemed to signal the end of Williams second title reign. But the NXT Champion came back strong and got the victory after a Trick Kick and Flying Knee.

Ultimately, NXT Deadline was a good show that carved an important path forward for the developmental brand. Below are the official match results of NXT Deadline:

  • Oba Femi beat Je’Von Evans, Wes Lee, Nathan Frazer, and Ethan Page in the men’s Iron Survivor Challenge.
  • Lola Vice beat Jaida Parker in an NXT Underground match.
  • Nathan Frazer and Axiom defeated Tavion Heights and Myles Borne to retain the NXT Tag Team Titles.
  • Trick Williams defeated Ridge Holland to retain the NXT Championship.
  • Giulia beat Sol Ruca, Stephanie Vaquer, Zaria, Giulia, and Wren Sinclair in the women’s Iron Survivor Challenge.
