Looks like we’ll be walking with Elijah in TNA.
Last month, it appeared as if the former WWE star was headed to ROH/AEW as Elijah posted a video of him, alongside Vincent and Dutch of The Righteous. However, that rumor was eventually shut down as Sean Ross Sapp confirmed that the former Elias had yet to sign an official contract.
But there was word that TNA officials were actually pitching ideas for the 37-year-old’s debut. That came to fruition during their latest live episode when Joe Hendry had his concert. First, former WWE Tag Team Champions Eddie “Primo” Colon and Orlando “Epico” Colon came out and interrupted the TNA World Champion.
It seemed as if the former WWE stars were set to attack Hendry until Elijah made the save. Fans were clearly excited to see the former WWE star in the Impact zone as Elijah played his guitar before he joined Hendry in holding off The Colons. Then the main event was set: Joe Hendry & Elijah vs. The Colons.
There was some doubt that Elijah could be trusted, but ultimately, Hendry and Elijah beat the former WWE Tag Team Champions and sent the crowd home happy. At this time, there’s no word on whether Elijah signed an official contract with TNA Wrestling.
Tonight was the first time that Elijah had stepped into TNA. Since his WWE release in 2023, Elijah had been a workhorse on the independent scene. The former WWE star wrestled in NWA, IWC, REVOLVER, WSW, and ALW in 2024. He even worked the Chris Jericho cruise last month, which is when the heavy speculation about him joining ROH began.
Are we looking at a potential Elijah vs. Joe Hendry match down the line? There weren’t particularly any teases, but it’s interesting that Elijah made his debut in the main event scene. As far as The Colons are concerned, the jury is still out on whether this was a one night thing or if they’ll be hanging around Impact for a while.
Like Elijah, Primo and Epico have been wrestling on the independent scene since their respective WWE releases in 2020. Recently, they’ve competed in NWA, though they haven’t done anything particularly noteworthy. Still, they would be a welcome addition to TNA’s tag team division, though the company would be wise to build them up first before having them seriously go after the tag team belts.
