Laredo Kid is done with TNA Wrestling.
One person who won’t be anywhere near the battle between NXT and TNA is Laredo Kid, who just confirmed that his time in the promotion was over.
This was Kid’s second stint in TNA. Originally, Laredo Kid made his debut in TNA/Impact Wrestling back in 2017. He was used sparingly throughout his two stints, with the 38-year-old mostly being on the losing end of his matches.
Kid made his TNA/Impact Wrestling return in 2021 by beating John Skyler. Kid was given more to do this time around. He competed in the X-Division tournament, though he lost the first round against Trey Miguel. He fought in the Call Your Shot Battle Royal at the company’s Bound For Glory show that year. Kid was mostly a mainstay in the X-Division in 2021/2022; he competed for the prestigious belt on several occasions, but was on the losing end in every championship match.
Kid would end up winning his first title two years later. The former TNA star would beat Crazzy Steve at Rebellion 2024 to capture the now defunct Digital Media Championship. However, he would only keep the belt for a month as he lost the belt to AJ Francis during the 20th Impact Wrestling Anniversary. He did manage to successfully retain his belt against KC Navarro before his quick loss.
Following his title loss, he floated around the mid card/X-Division title scene again. Kid was in the Ultimate X match at Emergence, but failed to achieve his goal winning the belt again. His final match was in May as he was in a four way tag team number one contender’s match with Octagon Jr. The Rascalz ended up winning that bout. Laredo Kid did make one cameo in the NXT/TNA crossover as he was in the crowd during a May 27th episode of the developmental brand. That night, it was revealed that he was a part of a four way match for the North American Championship at World’s Collide.
Laredo Kid is a AAA mainstay so it’s not particularly surprising that his time in TNA has come to an end. It’s quite possible that we’ll see him back in the promotion sometime in the future, but he’s a rather busy man on the indie scene so Laredo will be fine.
