Masha Slamovich’s time in TNA does not look good.

For those living under a rock, former TNA Knockouts Champion Masha Slamovich has had some serious abuse allegations levied against her. Last week, the wrestling world was hit with screenshots of text messages from a conversation between Masha and her ex, AKIRA; the texts revealed the nature of their relationship in that the 27-year-old was abusive towards her ex boyfriend.

Immediately, TNA pulled Masha from their Victory Road event where she was set to challenge Ash by Elegance for the TNA Knockouts title. Slamovich was also pulled from several other indie promotions as well. The TNA star did finally speak on the allegations, but Slamovich claimed that the entire relationship was toxic, putting the blame on her and AKIRA.

Since that post, she’s been rather quiet, but the update on her future does not look good. Interestingly enough, Slamovich’s contract with TNA was coming to an end and it doesn’t appear that officials will re-sign the former TNA Knockouts Champion, according to Fightful Select. But the kicker here is that it doesn’t seem that the allegations were the cause of this as Fightful points out that Slamovich was never booked for the NXT vs. TNA war last Tuesday.

“There were some rumors floating around that [Masha Slamovich] wasn’t welcome to the NXT show on Tuesday, but she wasn’t even in the country, so that wasn’t even a consideration.”

The allegations just made it easier to release the TNA star according to the report.

“Fightful Select learned that made the decision honestly pretty, pretty easy for TNA. And because her contract was up very soon anyway, she wasn’t planned to win the match she was scheduled for against Ash by Elegance. That’s why she actually dropped the title recently. They didn’t have any real confidence that she would even be with the company after I think probably Bound for Glory season anyway. So she was pretty well on her way out of the company as it is.”

It’s not clear why officials had no interest in re-signing Slamovich prior to the allegations. She was a focal point of the Knockouts division in the past year and it did seem as if WWE liked her as well. There were no reports about her behavior backstage nor was there any heat towards Slamovich before the abuse allegations. Of course, without any knowledge of the environment behind-the-scenes then there’s no way to tell what was really going on. Either way, it doesn’t look good for Masha, unless WWE opts to sign the former Knockouts Champion.
