The TNA Hall of Fame is about to get Hardcore on October 12th.
It was confirmed during an episode of Notsam Wrestling Live! on SiriusXM that the former TNA Knockouts Champion is the latest inductee into the TNA Hall of Fame from TNA President Carlos Silva.
The news of James being in the TNA Hall of Fame is not a surprise as she’s been a cornerstone for the knockouts division on and off since 2010. When WWE released James in 2010, the former WWE Women’s Champion reinvented herself when she came into the company that same year.
James has gone on to have memorable feuds against Gail Kim, Deonna Purrazzo, and Tara (aka Victoria). Mickie James has won the Impact/TNA Knockouts Championship five times in her illustrious career. Her last reign was in 2023 when she first beat Deonna Purrazzo at Hard to Kill.
James will join Sting, Kurt Angle, Jeff Jarrett, Earl Hebner, Gail Kim, Abyss, Ken Shamrock, Awesome Kong, Raven, Raven, Tracy Brooks, Rhino & Bob Ryder, Team 3D, Mike Tenay & Don West in their Hall of Fame. Below is the special media blurb over James’ induction into the prestigious Hall of Fame.
An 11-time Women’s World Champion, Mickie James has been wrestling for more than two decades, including multiple title runs in WWE and TNA Wrestling. She has been wrestling since 1999 and has been a multi-time winner of the Woman Wrestler of the Year award. Her 2021 Bound For Glory match against Deonna Purrazzo was voted the 2021 Knockouts Match of the Year. Away from the ring, James is a renowned country music singer, perhaps best known for her hit single “Hardcore Country.” She is an inductee into the Native American Music Awards Hall of Fame and is signed to Sony Music.
This is a well deserved induction as Mickie James has certainly helped make both the WWE and TNA women’s divisions credible. It wasn’t just the fact that James could go between the ropes, but she’s nicely progressed as a character throughout the years. It would be shocking if a WWE Hall of Fame induction never came.
Then again, there are plenty of names who deserve an induction, so James wouldn’t be the only one on the list if it didn’t happen. Congratulations Mickie James!
