Could we see Ridge Holland in the TNA zone soon?
Sadly, Ridge Holland was one of the developmental talents whose contract WWE opted to not renew. Now there’s some controversy surrounding Holland’s dismissal as he’s currently sitting out due to him suffering a serious Lisfranc injury against Moose during a television taping a few weeks ago.
While this may not be a case of WWE releasing Holland from his contract, what WWE tends to do with injured talent is freeze their contracts until they’re healed and ready to go. This is why in year’s past it was extremely rare for a talent to be released when they’re out nursing an injury.
However, it’s been happening more frequently since TKO took over. Nevertheless, Holland’s WWE career seems to be over (for now); however, that doesn’t mean he can’t jump ship to TNA once he’s recovered from injury. Moose penned a nice message about the former WWE/NXT star and hoped to see him in the promotion again.
“Sorry to hear Ridge ….. speedy recovery hopefully you make it back to TNA. You’re one of the good ones ????,” Moose wrote.
Does TNA have interest in Ridge Holland?
That’s unknown currently. TNA has picked up plenty of former WWE stars from the past, with the most recent being Mara Sade, Indi Hartwell, Cedric Alexander, and Mustafa Ali; however, that doesn’t mean that the promotion will simply take everyone who becomes available.
Unfortunately for Holland though, it’ll be quite a while before he can make his next move in the wrestling world as he’s still nursing an injury that could keep him out of action for nearly six months. Holland showed flashes of potential during his time in WWE, but his injuries kept preventing him from reaching great heights in his career. There’s no word on whether WWE would’ve kept Holland if he didn’t receive his latest injury, but given the way he was booked over the last year then it wouldn’t be surprising if WWE would’ve still opted to not renew the 37-year-old’s contract.
Hopefully, Holland makes a speed recovery and is allowed to show up at another promotion and prove why WWE made the mistake of not re-signing him. TNA would be the perfect place for him to showcase his skills as a performer.
