As we're sure you've heard, former WCW/TNA wrestler Daffney was recently found dead after sharing a troubling video to social media. In an Instagram Live video on Wednesday night, she could be seen holding a pistol in her hand and talking about wanting her brain to be sent to Boston, the home of the Concussion Legacy Institute.

Daffney suffered a series of serious concussions while competing for TNA, later filing a lawsuit after they reportedly failed to cover medical bills related to those injuries. She made her WCW debut in 1999 and is best remembered for being aligned with David Flair and winning the Cruiserweight Championship.

According to TMZ, police went to her home in Georgia to perform a welfare check, but left when there was no answer from her apartment. They returned a few hours later and saw Daffney's car parked outside; after receiving a key from a maintenance man, they attempted to gain entry, but were unable to do so due to the deadbolt being in place. The fire department then broke the door down.

Unfortunately, it was then she was discovered on her bed with a gunshot wound to the chest.

This is being treated as a suicide, and is obviously a tragic end to Daffney's life. We don't know a lot about her time outside the ring, but many believe she may have suffered from health issues related to those concussions. Our thoughts go out to her friends and family at this difficult time.

R.I.P Daffney Thanks for the memories, especially in TNA where you took hardcore wrestling to another level, considering most hardcore matches are performed by men.

@marvel72 - This is really sad. What I find weird is that the police couldn't get in because the deadbolt was in place?

Wouldn't the apartments have a key for the deadbolt lock also? And why leave and come back hours later? It's a wellness check and no one answered the door. At the VERY least wouldn't you expect an officer to stay there for a while?

The whole thing seems like it was handled poorly.

But at the same time, if someone wants to take their life badly enough, they are going to do it one way or another.

Just a sad situation all around.

@CorndogThief - Yeah man, it's sad.Maybe the deadbolt would have been on the otherside of the door,so they had the key to the door but not the deadbolt.

Either way too young to die,it's shame she had no one to talk to.

It might of prevented all of this.
