Kiss the TNA Digital Media Championship goodbye.
The Director of Authority (Santino Marella) has finally made a decision on the Digital Media Championship. This entire controversy started after PCO destroyed the Digital Media title at The People vs. GCW back in January.
PCO would eventually explain his actions in an exclusive Fightful interview.
“I’m very upset at TNA’s new management.” he said during a Fightful interview. “but I have to take full responsibility because I should have seen the red flags before, and I should have asked to get off my contract and ask for my release,” PCO said. “I felt like I was in my comfort zone a little bit because this TNA roster is the best dressing room I was part of. No backstabbing, no crazy pranks. Such a nice locker room. The production team, their production is skating on thin ice.
“They do miracles with little. I like them a lot. Creative-wise, the creative team, I got along good with everybody. In 2024, I had the most wins on pay-per-view with Jordynne Grace and Moose with nine wins. That sounds crazy thinking that now I am talking to you without a contract with TNA. That’s out of the ordinary.”
Though TNA never addressed the situation publicly, PCO was effectively done with the promotion and Steph De Lander returned with the Digital Media title around her waist. The storyline logic behind this is that Steph had gotten the belt through a divorce settlement. She’s been carrying it around ever since her return to TNA.
But the big announcement for this Thursday’s TNA will confirm that the Digital Media title is no longer active. Santino goes on to announce the introduction of the TNA International Championship, and reveals that a tournament will take place to crown the first ever champion. A new champion will be crowned at TNA Unbreakable. The tournament will be rounds of triple threat matches. The participants of that tournament have yet to be confirmed.
Though the The Digital Media title was held by the likes of Jordynne Grace, Matt Cardona, and the current TNA World Champion Joe Hendry, that belt wasn’t particularly working in the first place so it was wise for TNA to simply get rid of it. There’s no specific reasoning on why TNA opted to do away with the Digital Media title.
