Ever since dropping the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship to Hiromu Takahashi at Dominion 6.9 in Osaka-jo Hall on June 9, the British native has been on a quest to regain what he lost.

Ospreay came close to recapturing what was once his at Fighting Spirit Unleashed, as he was apart of a four man tournament for the then-vacated IWGP Junior Heavyweight championship, but the high flyer would lose to Marty Scurll in the end.

While Ospreay has been unable to achieve his goal of regaining the IWGP Junior Heavyweight championship, the former champ has a chance to open up the new year with a bang as he’s set to challenge Kota Ibushi for the NEVER Openweight championship at Wrestle Kingdom 13.
