Last night, two former rivals collided once again.

Sami Callihan answered the challenge, though the former Impact World Champion was first assaulted before his title match. As Callihan made his entrance, RVD attacked with a steel chair and continued to beat down Callihan on the ramp until security arrived.  RVD and Katie Forbes eventually left; however, not before injuring Callihan before his big title match.

Callihan still opted to fight Edwards and the action between the former rivals started off fast. The former Impact World Champion ended up getting the advantage thanks to an eye rake and then a piledriver onto the apron.

The 32-year-old proceeded to beat down the champion for a good portion of the match-up until Eddie hit a Blue Thunder Bomb for a nearfall. Eddie’s comeback wouldn’t last long as Callihan came back with a brainbuster that got him a strong nearfall as well. The two would exchange strikes back and forth until Sami connected with his piledriver finisher out of nowhere. Eddie put his foot on the bottom rope to stop the three count.

Sami went for a steel chair but chose not to use the weapon. This move costed him as Eddie managed to hit the Boston Knee Party twice and got the three count. While the announcers reminded viewers of Sami Callihan blasting Eddie Edwards with a baseball bat back in 2018, that spot was never teased during the match-up.
